CarPlay Car Adapter

Anyone seen this?

https://usacarplay.com/products/car-...er-android-ios

There is not much info on their website. It seems too good to be true if what the FAQ in the website says is true:

"Our product is compatible with all vehicles regardless of make or model. Your vehicle must have a screen on its dashboard (not necessarily a touch screen), be Android enabled and have a USB port. Normally you can check this by looking in your Dashboard settings."

That won't fit our e84's... you're gonna have to either purchase an actual adapter (with a carplay capable unit)

I bought mine from:
https://www.android-car-dvd.com/prod...61a5cf82&_ss=r
and it works really great!

Why will it not fit? It's not a head unit replacement. It is just a dongle that plugs to the car's USB port and the idea is that CarPlay is supposed to be projected on the car's existing display. I am skeptical that it works though.

Thanks for the info but I am not yet ready to dismantle my car's dashboard to install CarPlay on my X1 yet though. Did you install yours yourself? I wonder how easy the installation is.

I'm not sure a usb adapter will be enough for the x1's CIC to project Carplay. It may be more tailored towards NBT (Next Big Thing) display's, which can be found on newer BMW's.

I installed it myself and it took me about an hr to an hr and a half because I was taking it easy, since the manual was a bit vague, but I have been able to do multiple long trips using either waze or google maps and it has been absolutely great!
