Caliper Upgrades From E9X

So I'm in the process of needing to replace discs and pads upfront and I have been doing some searching to find what parts crossover etc.

As some of you know I have the 20D which I believe isn't available in America?

Anyway I found out today that the car uses 325D calipers / carriers / rotors / pads.

Does anybody know if the 335d calipers from an E91 will go on to the front and rear?

Not sure if anyone has tackled this as I'm sure you all seem to have the 35i

A lot of people on here have the 28i (myself included), but you're right that most people looking for upgrades are those with the 35i. If the parts are interchangeable with the 325d then why don't you check if the 325d can accept 335d parts. If so then there's a really good chance it will work on yours as well.

Fwiw i do recall seeing some posts that 335 brake kits fit both the 35i and 28i

Of course, distance shorter, feelings better, and more stable after some brakes.
This is from 35i or 28i(only with n52) x1
Same from 335i
Rear brakes not do, Because on e90 board read about a lot problem with swap emergency brake

I don't know why there would be. The car is traction limited in stopping distances (repeat stops/fade resistance aside). The stock brakes can engage the ABS...so going bigger isn't going to shorten stopping distances in street driving situations.

Unless of course you add enough tire and/or wheel mass that your stock brakes can't engage the ABS anymore...than sure.

But anyway, as a general rules...if you want shorter stopping distances, step 1. is always a tire upgrade.

Yeah I completely agree with you Apex about doing the tires first. And while I'm no expert I've seen examples where a big brake kit significantly improved stopping distances, but I imagine that was on performance or racing tires.

I currently have toyo proxes on. Not the most amazing tyres but they certainly do the job for daily driving.
