Winter wheels and tires

I have an almost new set of wheels and tires from my 2007 328i sport ....
225/45-17 .. Will they fit on my 2014 x1......

welcome to the forum. No one can answer your question accurately without more information on the wheels as it all depends on the offset.

I had got them via tire rack.... They were unsure... My shop suggested to just try them.....I'll get more info.... Thanks

You will have to know your complete original setup.
Then try 1010tyres. You can mix yours with their - tyre size calculator -, they even let you put 3 + different sizes in and they also have an - offset calculator -.
Like BeEmDoubleV said, you have to supply all relevant information to get answers.

I have heard that the 35i brakes may be larger. Is this true? Will any wheel that fits the 28i fit the 35i? I will need winter tires myself and preferrably would like 17" rims if I can get them to fit.

If the Tire Rack is uncertain, I'd be uncertain. They usually have their chit together. Not disputing what others have said here, but I'd do some measuring and checking.

35i brakes are larger but 35i's also came factory with 17" wheels.
