M Sport seats info
Hey all, I am a new owner of a 2013 35i X Line and am planning to swap the standard seats for the M Sport seats.
What I need to know is are they all leather and how to tell? Is there anything to look for during the swap? I did find a set with 4k on them and they appear to be perfect, but before I have them shipped I thought I would inquire. Thanks! Mike |

Bump. Also looking for any info for swapping them out for my stock seats.
Does the body control computer have anything to do with the seats etc etc. |

Go for it, sport seats are great.I have comfort seats and they are anything but. I had sport seats in my 135i and they were extremely comfortable.

The seats come in leather and Vinyl. Depends how they were ordered. I have the leather sports seats and love them. However, even the leather seats are not 100% leather. All seating surfaces are leather but the back is vinyl.

As far as I know, there are no X1 "M Sport seats", just sports seats.
They're awesome, unless you're fat. The back has stepless adjustments in three different and independent heights for lumbar support, the back wing width can be adjusted to grab your ribs firmly, and the knee bolster extension is just great. I love the seats, while a household member who is, um, less fit hates them. Even the widest setting of the wings appear to be painful for wider people. |

Where's that vinyl? Mine are all leather, except for the obvious black plastic tray on the back. The part above it is the same piece of leather as the top of the front.

There must be several types of sports chairs, because the only manual adjustment on mine is the knee bolster - everything else is electric, 12 functions in all, plus storage/recall. They appear to be Recaro seats made for BMW.

I have the M Sport package and my experience is the same as yours...the knee bolster is the only manual part of the seat.

Thanks a bunch guys! I am waiting for pics and the VIN to verify the seats.
I did find a pair of Sensatech power seats without lumbar if anyone is interested in upgrading their stock seats. I spent about 300 miles in my X1 this Sunday and it was fine, but I am looking forward to swapping in the sport seats for the extra comfort/support. I sat in a 2015 model with the sport seats and they are really great. |
