Repeated valvetronic motor failure
Hello all,
I have a 2014 X1 35i and it had a valvetronic motor failure in 2019 that was replaced by the dealer. Then it failed again in 2020 (again replaced) and now again in 2022. Can anyone shed light on what is causing this? The car is used sparingly and has just over 50K miles. Is the dealership service-shop not installing it properly? I understand that it is quite an involved process to replace one of these. Or is this likely to be something else? Thanks a lot for your insights. Cres |

You may have more response over at e90 section where some of the models are N55 engine as well.
IIRC it's a not hard to replace the valvetronic motor. Think there's some alignment with this screw thingy. |
