Ours is okay so far, but this was a common issue on the E82 and a warranty replacement for the first few years, but they stopped offering it after a few years, so you might want to act relatively quickly.

I'd definitely make them replace the dash on my X1 if that happened.

I told them Id keep my car until the dash came in. I love this car to death but thing like this along with the paddle shifters fiasco really piss me off for a 53k car... Today I'm adding the mud flaps as if anyone know the dirt goes straight to the back window...

I just bought an X1 S-drive in India and have noticed an air bubble on the left side of the dashboard of the car. I had sent the car to the workshop but they aren't addressing the issue and are giving reasons that this is a minor problem and doesn't need replacement.

BEAMERBOI, from what i see in this post is that BMW USA was going to replace your dashboard. If they did the same, could you please send me any communication from BMW USA saying they have replaced your dashboard for this problem. I can then put pressure on BMW India and ask them to replace this part for me.

It would be great if you could help me out with any information as it would help me tremondously. Thanks

This IS a manufacturing defect and absolutely should be replaced on BMWs dime. Your dealer is throwing up a front. Dealers are recognized by BMW for doing a minimum of warranty work.
Tell your dealer that you want to speak with a regional representative and insist on them replacing the dash if your car is still under warranty. This is no different than if you got a bubble in the paint. It might be cosmetic, but it's still a defect.
BTW, your dealer SUXASS.

The dash X1 is the worst possible quality it can be!
I do not understand what it is that BMW won in offering such a low level of quality in the dash board
They neither took the job at LCI to improve the dash board quality
My advice is: do nothing and live with it or you will find more problems (noise, crackles, etc.)

Spoke to the BMW India representative and he's gonna get back to regarding the same. Just got the car a month back so its under warranty. Hopefully they resolve this issue soon.

Ya they should've changed the dashboard of the LCI. I agree there's a risk that the car can get more problems with a dashboard replacement but its quite a big air bubble and looks really bad.
