Yup 3 to 4 months is what he gave me.

I was thinking along those lines, cos what's puzzling is that Singapore's now already assembling X1s, but I think they only have the 18i and 20d, and prices have thus decreased a bit!

To be honest prices here in SA, probably because of the duties etc, are hopelessly high. Like I said I'm paying the equivalent of 35,000GBP for my 18i!! But I have specced it up a bit.

But I got a bonus so gonna check with my dealer if it's not too late to switch to a s20d. If not, it's ok, I'll pile on some more extras

Holy crap, that's almost half a million R. Things have changed since I left. My last car in SA was a new 318i and cost R100k

R408,000 to be precise after discount

I buy now, question my sanity later

A X1 sDrive18i actually costs more than a 320i,
sDrive20d > 320d.

And all 3-series come standard with leather here!

Ouch.

Think the 3 is cheaper there as its made in Rosslyn. Here in the UK its the other way round, X1 is about 15% cheaper, like for like. Base price of the 2.0d XDrive is the equivalent of R310,000 at the current exchange rate.

Garage List
2011 BMW X1 23d  [7.66]
I ordered my car in October and I'm hopeful to get it the end of this month/first few days of next. Planned dealer delivery is 24/2, they'll need a few days to licence it and give it an ordinary clean up for delivery and then I can have it :

Hi, new here and first post. I've just ordered a 23D and it's starting build this week. Ordered from Sydney and with auto and paddles so this was of some interest to me. I've just checked with BMW Sydney and without specifically specifying the paddles they have been added to the options list automatically.

My sales rep sent me a screendump of the order screen and it has listed 02XA GEARSHIFT as well as 0205 AUTO TRANS so it should be built correctly and it seems any issues with the ordering process for the paddles have been rectified.

Cheers,

Kris.

Hey Kris, welcome aboard.

Kris as in "Kristine" ? Another female X1 driver, and another Aussie ?
This X1 seems very popular in Oz !

We look forward to seeing pictures of your X1. May I ask what color combination you have picked ?
