Scratches on X1 Argh...

So I was leaving my Gf's place yesterday and noticed I have a nice long scratch on the drivers door... looks like some asshat took a knife and ran it down my door. It's deep enough for my fingernail to stay in the groove but not showing metal... have you guys had similar scratches? I want to avoid getting the car wet sanded and or going to the body shop.

Have not had that happen but considering you will probably have to wet sand it I would try filling the "groove" with clear coat paint from a paint stick. If you wet sand it your just sanding down the clear coat around the "groove". If it doesn't look a lot better then wet sand it and it may blend better since the "groove" has been filled.

Garage List
I have lights scratches everywhere on my car. I'm honestly disappointed in BMW's paint. It seems really thin and too easy to scratch for having to pay extra for it. I have had luck with them buffing out for the most part

I've wet sanded a lot of deep scratches mostly with success but basically your lowering the paint around the deep scratch. If it's as deep as described it's probably not coming out with compound that's why I suggested filling it with clear coat and then wet sanding the area smooth but level then compound then polish. Just depends if it got below the clear coat if so then let a professional try. My method costs $10 if it works and a body shop won't even look at it for $150.
