Not sure people outside of the US have the updated interiors or other changes from the mid life update so we may be comparing apples with oranges. Obviously everyone in the US has a 2013 model.

Thats about it, car is pretty nicely equipped for the price and has just about everything my X5 had. 12 TBD |

1) Engine
2.8i, super smooth, no turbo lag 2) Transmission 8 speed auto with paddle shifter. Lots of gear, awesome performance. Paddles used mostly to downshift faster prior passing. 3) Actual MPG (city/hwy) after broken in If drive per speed limits = city:9 l/100km hwy: 7.5 l/100km 4) Braking Superb, stop on a dime. Car stay straight as an arrow on any surface snow included. 5) Handling Best I ever experienced, this is my first BMW 6) Steering feel A bit heavy but got use to it after a few weeks 7) Exterior design Love it, tailgate should have a handle to help closing 8) Interior design Good quality material, simple but pretty average look. 9) Quality Very satisfied, no issue after 43,000km (approx 25,000 miles). Paint seems to chip easily 10) What do you like best about the car? Performance, handle, very practical for my life style. Going to MTB races, it is charm 11) What would you improve? Run on Flat tires are noisy and wear fast, not good. Paint chips easily on front fender and hood. I would expect better about this. 12) Reliability Perfect thus far, I drive a lot. Touch wood. |

Which model do you have? 18d SE Sdrive (2010)
Miles driven? 37500 1) Engine - 8 2) Transmission – 7 - Notchy gear change sometimes and too much play in the transmission. 3) Actual MPG (city/hwy) after broken in – Right now 51.3, usual 52.3, best 54.3. 4) Braking - 6 - Needs better discs and pads. 5) Handling - 7 - Could do with stiffer anti-roll bars/drop links. 6) Steering feel - 7 7) Exterior design - 8 8) Interior design - 7 9) Quality - 7 10) What do you like best about the car? - Great touring car and excellent for commuting. Even though I've only got 143bhp, it accelerates pretty well. 11) What would you improve? - A button on the steering wheel to change radio bands! (e.g. FM to AM) Better anti-leaf traps under the bonnet. My wings are full of leaves! Spare wheel and jack. 12) Reliability - 8 - Not let me down yet, but I still have a few issues with clutch, vibrating pulley and shh shh shh timing belt. Overall it's a good car. Load carrying capability is great and going away for a week with the wife and daughter was a breeze. I like the slightly raised driving position and head room, it makes the car feel a lot taller. Still got those niggles with the engine parts to sort out, but 7 months till warranty up... so there's time yet Only realised on Friday its got hill hold control. Result! J. |

I'm also turned off by the Jekyll and Hyde ride comfort. On asphalt and most concrete the ride is firm but not overly harsh, which is exactly what I expected. But on aged concrete the car takes on a completely different personality, pitching and crashing over expansion joints on the standard 18" runflats. In fairness, I have not driven the standard suspension, and I cannot comment on how it compares to the M Sport's. |

xdrive 28i x-line
28 miles so far 1) Engine: 9 ample power 2) Transmission: 9 smooth shifting 3) Actual MPG (city/hwy) after broken in: too early to tell 4) Braking: 9 good feel 5) Handling: 9 best handling SUV we've owned, rides like a not-too-tall sport wagon 6) Steering feel: 9 7) Exterior design: 8.5 surprisingly more handsome every day, really grows on you. In the two days we've owned it we've had several people stop and stare, ask about it, and take photos of it. Weird that some people have never heard of the "small SAV" before 8) Interior design: 8 very good. not excellent, but very good. Very glad with the oyster/drk copper trim combination 9) Quality: 9 feels very solid, not rattles 10) What do you like best about the car?: driving dynamics, small outside-big inside. iPod integration via USB is also very nice 11) What would you improve?: rear seat vents and heated seats and power liftgate would have been nice but can't complain overall 12) Reliability: Day 1 too early to tell |

orange/blk 35i m sport, loaded minus the lighting package, 19" wheels
i've put on 634 local miles, and i've only had it a week, love it! 1) Engine - 9 2) Transmission - 9 3) Actual MPG (city/hwy) not broken in, just creeped up to 18.5 4) Braking - 10 5) Handling - 9 6) Steering feel - 10 7) Exterior design - 9 8) Interior design - 7 (minus a point for the basic backseat, but i'm single and only like to road trip solo or with one other person, so no big deal) 9) Quality - 8 10) What do you like best about the car? almost everything! i actually love the runflats - the car sticks to the road like nobody's business... i live in the bay area and i drive conservatively on the highways but let loose on the backroads, the car is sooo fun to drive on the windy roads around here. great stereo (harman kardon) and bluetooth phone system. my first car was my dad's '78 530i in the 80's and this is my first new car ever, thoroughly digging it! 11) What would you improve? comfort access for passanger side and back doors, kinda defeats the purpose to have to dig for the key or reach in to hit the unlock door button. more comfortable back seat. 12) Reliability - dont know yet, so far so good! |
