How to take CIC, Centre console apart?
I was wondering if there's instructions on how to take X1's CIC head unit and the Centre console apart or if someone with knowledge/experience can put up the instructions for car noob like myself as a guide . I'm planning to do some retrofitting specifically 6NR and 6NF or swap X1's dash USB/AUX with MINI's USB/AV for video. I'm not sure if the latter is even possible but 6NR requires FSC codes and since Australian models never had one I risk the chance of getting it wiped out every time I take my X1 to BMW for servicing and other stuff that might come along with it and I have to coz I'm just 6 mths into warranty and haven't even had my 1st servicing of my 4 free yrs.
Either way, I will have to do the ripping myself as I haven't heard of any one doing retrofitting here. The guaranteed option I have been told is to replace my 6NS base plate that don't have video capability with 6NF one along with 6NR and connect it to CIC but I don't even know what parts I have to rip off let alone how.. The other option I'm not quite sure about is to replace the X1's dash USB/AUX with MINI's USB/AV. If the world is really as simple as I think it is, I was thinking may be just take the trim out that acts as a cover to X1's dash USB/AUX, access the module and replace it with MINI's USB/AV and put the trim back in and have the USB/AV instead with video capability.. So, it would be awesome if anyone with any idea on this could shed some light on this matter or provide a full set of instructions with pictures
