Dinan N20 "Big Turbo"
I don't know if anyone has seen this yet or not, but looks like Dinan has a "Big Turbo" upgrade for the N20 https://www.dinancars.com/product/D3...ries&mid=1182/
The webpage doesn't list compatibility with the E84 X1, but there can't be much difference in engine layout between our cars and the F30 3 series. Last edited by IslandTimes; 02-17-2017 at 07:33 AM.. |

How much is the gap in cost between 28 and 35 trim levels? Seems like getting the 35 for a more robust start point is better
N55 + piggyback would get over that 345hp and it would be a lightly modded car (i.e. All else equal more reliable) |

I was wondering about that as well. It does have the Dinan name to back it up, and they continue to honour the warranty, so my guess is it's not beyond what the engine can handle. Probably not comfortably though to get that much of a boost

345hp in a 28i would be killer on a track! |

I checked the install instructions and it lists removal of the water pump as one of the steps. I'm hoping my water pump will at least last another 50K miles, but when it goes out and needs to be replaced, it couldn't be too much more work to replace the stock turbo with this at the same time.

But that said I have test driven n20 X1, z4 and 3er and each time have gone with n54/n55. Guess I am hooked on more power and I6 sound? |
