X1 IIHS Crash Test
http://news.consumerreports.org/cars...rash-test.html
CR article reports on the new test results. 2014 Subaru Forester gets the nod for acing that test, but "nine of the 13 SUVs tested earn the Top Safety Pick award (without the +) by receiving good ratings in the moderate overlap front, side, rollover and rear tests, regardless of their ratings in the small overlap front test. They include the BMW X1, Buick Encore, Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, Volkswagen Tiguan, and the 2014 Patriot." So, our rides are fun to drive, good looking, and fairly economical and SAFE! |

I can attest to the Subaru Forester's safety in a crash situation.
My 2010 Subby Forester was involved in a front end collision 4 months ago which totalled the Forester. My grandson was in a safety seat in the rear. He and I were completely unharmed, not a scratch or ache - as if nothing had happened, even though the Subby was a total write-off. Thought about buying another one, but the X1 won out as the replacement SUV.

This is from 2012, but here is the test for the X1. The car hasn't changed much since than other than a bit of cosmetics. Pictures and video as well. http://www.euroncap.com/results/bmw/x1/2012/426.aspx |
