$750 a month for an X1 (Nav and parking sensors included)

So BMW invited us in as our X1 lease is up in may and we thought, why the hell not have a drive? It's a more refined car and very much more suited to our needs but you do feel the height and the weight up top, it drives like a small SUV rather than a car like the old one did. So as advertised, not as sporty but much, much easier to live with.

Thing is, if you throw in NAV and parking camera/sensors, and they want $750 a month (all in) and $2K down for four years on a lease! I literally laughed a little, the poor salesman was confused and my mrs embarrassed but COME ON, how stupid do I look?

I said, you want me to spend $36,000 on your entry level model then hand back the keys?? Poor guy, wasn't ready for me at all. I can BUY a Q5 with 50,000KM for the same money and own the damned thing!

That's just insane, absolutely insane.

Wife would have signed in a second if i wasn't there.

I've had similar experiences with looking at and m235i and the i3. ( two different worlds car wise , I know) either way working both numbers and still paying almost 800 a month was outrageous. I've looked over the deals, and I'm pretty well versed in lease arena, but something eludes me. I told my sales guy that I can go down the road and get a 2015 M4, bells and whistles included , with 7k miles for nearly the same payment and own it, if I choose to. Something isn't right here....

How much was the cash price of the car? I thought it wasn't much more expensive than $36,000?

We got our 2013 fully loaded with 40,000 Km for $28,500 CAD (so 25,000 miles for $22,000 USD!!!) AND it's a CPO so we get 6 years and 100,000 miles warranty.

I think I would have just laughed at the guy right on the spot.

No way, even stripped out X1's of the previous gen were over $500 here.
