Because I feel it's a great vehicle and fits the role of many other vehicles. I love the car, have since it came out. I think other's have missed out on a great vehicle.

I'm not super-tall, though, at a fairly average 6', so for me, the X1 M-Sport works surprisingly well compared to many other cars. The diagonal clearance is good. I sit down on the front of the seat, whip my head (and body) in, scoot back in the seat, and bring my legs in. But if really tall, yeah, I can see it being a problem, at least unless you pre-program one seat position just to get in and out. It's harder to get in and out of an X3 for me because of the doors - I have to lower the seats to get in, or I'll clonk the door frame with my noggin. Not to mention that once I get in, the leg room is better in an X1 than an X3 (because the dashboard is smaller, thus further away). This was a deciding factor why I got an X1 instead of an X3. |

Mine is a 2012 fully-fully loaded with 40.000 km, and was thinking to order a new one since this week is the last one that will take E84 factory orders. One offered $19.000 others $25.000 or $29.000. this in conditions when they sell a very naked 2012 with 75000km for $32.000. I told them to call me when they are out of joints. I don't know what are they smoking but I won't sell my fully loaded baby for half price. crooks. |

It's pretty funny how people can post whatever they want about the X1 without any facts to support their argument like "how bad the X1 is selling". They moved over 22,000 in the US last year on a vehicle that is 6 years old, they sold more X1's than 6, 7 and Z4 series combined. They have sold over 500,000 worldwide since its introduction. They sell more X3 here but they sell more X5 than X3's because Americans like big SUV's. 22,000 out of 339,000 BMW's sold is pretty good for a car basically introduced in 2006 with the E90 platform. To make general statements about holding value are meaningless without data. My 2013 X1 MSport which listed for $44K still shows a retail value of $32K on KBB. What you basically sell as loaners are yes low end stripped low cost entry level X1's, did you expect a 7 series loaner.

Good to know, there were a total of 6600ish Z3 M Coupes sold and many MC specific parts were impossible to find ten years after EOP. The numbers for the X1 support much better long term parts availability.

My front seats are always kept at their fully lowered position. I too do the butt first and scootch in just so I can enter, and I usually bump my head anyway. I am only 6-2, but very long torso'd. The value equation may vary a great deal, depending on area. Edmunds called the X1 a flop, but the numbers listed above say different. My local dealer unloaded about 5 low mile examples, in all trim levels, for between 6-10k under list. I was shopping Subaru Forresters XT trim, and it was cheaper to get my 35i. I'd love a Macan, but seriously, over 60k with no nav? They're also 4-500 pounds heavier than the X1. Porsche SUVs are like the Nissan GTR; they're so cool, nobody notices they're really ugly. |
