Looks great. How hard was it to do? I have thought of doing mine in alcantara. Do you have aftermarket gauges in?

You can buy the factory 1M piece for like $180 from ECS. I bought the 2015 pleather part for 275 CDN.

Any chance you have the part # for the 2015 version? RealOEM ends at 9/14 for me, so that's not listed...

Great to know the cowl can be changed without having to take out the whole dash. I've been looking at Navdy HUDs and thinking if I could cut out a tub for it in the cowl to give it a more OEM look.

X1 Black Suede Wrap

Not hard, just find someone that know how to stitch, on a sewing machine, give them a pattern to follow, and have patience when wrapping,
I used 3M Super Trim Adhesive to hold it down. The X1 Dash is well design, easy to separate.

Next is the center console.

Cool! I may try to match the leather on the steering wheel and seats instead. Your car will look good when you get all the pieces in, but I'm not sure about just one piece (the cowl) in my car.

Did you notice if there was a good clearance between the plastic and the back of the gauges (in the area where the HUD would sit)? Or there's just no room for the HUD base to be recessed into the cowl?

Wow exactly what I was thinking of doing around the centre console area. The armrest and the instrument dash already has soft material (with stiches on instrument dash) for 2014 make. So, I was thinking of doing the panel around the sides that goes from around the a/c unit till the centre armrest. Did you tuck in the edges of the suede in between where 2 trim meets?

Got my dealer to do some searching for the 2015 part. Took them a couple of weeks but they did find the P/N. 51-45-9-302-952. That's for sport line cars with black or red interior leather. There's different P/Ns for those with say oyster or beige etc..

Pimping in Seude

Ya, I tuck in the edges of the suede in between where 2 trim meet,
I will take better pictures in day light, it really looks a lot better in person, pics do not show the suede detail.

And no, I won't go this far (see Pic)

actually I was thinking of doing the side ones that aren't done in ur pic The middle part already has brushed aluminium trim and I want to leave it as it is. Also the radio/ac unit is good on black itself. Just wanted to cover those cheap looking plastics on those side walls and extend around the lower section of the dash like on glove box areas. Also, I wanted to change the steering wheel to have alcantara, m stitching and a red centre stripe but got asked AUD 2,000 so quietly walked away . Otherwise, they would go together with my alcantara/cloth seat

Did you have a copy of the shop manual for removing the cowl or you freestyled it?

6 screws, T-15 Torx. Remove the two holding on the cluster, then pul the top edge down and pull the unit out. 2 screws in the far back, then two screws on the sides at a bit of an angle. Then there's two clips on the sides above the screws. Watch when removing the side with the push button, it's a bitch to get that panel back in it's place.
