Odd experience today

Today while I was leaving my house to go get some groceries I came across an issue I've never had before.

I normally drive my car in "manual" mode, and while turning left under moderate acceleration I pulled the lever back for second gear. It hit almost as hard as actually being hit from behind. I pulled the lever again and third was almost as hard. At this point I decided to drive in regular ass D. Shifts became a bit more smooth, but still much harder than what they should be.

After I got groceries, I was again turning left with the car just in D, the traction light started blinking while I was at about 30% or so throttle. Another oddity. This time I turned my DSC off and continued home.

I left the car running and quickly put stuff away and went for another drive. This time, I had the car in "manual" and with the DSC off. I couldn't get any hard shifts. I turned the DSC back on and hit the accelerator. Second gear at about 2k RPM. Light started flashing again. Normally I can't get that to happen in second gear. After that happened, I had trouble being able to drive the car normally. Felt like I had a really clunky DCT, and about 100 less HP. Seems to be limping around.

I'm going to have a look under the car tomorrow when I'm at the shop switching to my winter rubber so I can take pictures of the car with stock wheels. If anyone is looking for an X1 in the Calgary area, PM me it's for sale!

I'm confused...

Did you just post about a problem your car is having, and then offer it for sale in the same post?

I'm no sales man, but you're doing it wrong...

The 8 speed is a nice transmission that shifts so good you don't even notice it.

Like I said before, no one is coordinated to shift it because you can't feel the total load on it like the trans can.

Hot rodding auto with manual shifts will damage it just like what you described.

This is old school thinking. What about DCTs? They're automatics which people shift manually. They don't break easily either.

Problem fixed, I unplugged a sensor inadvertently. Works fine now.

Ok, I'll throw you a bone here.

You found out you don't have any hard shifts with DSC off.

Your staggered tires already had approx 1.5% difference in their rolling rate.

After that ratio got bigger due to rears wearing faster even though all wheel drive the DSC is going nuts.

I had a little trouble with my DSC on turns with my factory stagger of 8x18 and 9x18.

I fixed that by putting 12mm spacers on front only to UNSTAGGER it somewhat.
