M-Sport Body Kit

Hi,

I'm searching for a M-Sport body kit to install on my 2012 28i and I need some advice.

Does anyone know where to find a good aftermarket kit? Or should I stick with an OEM $$$... Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Would pay anywhere near 5,000 for that.

Wow... I knew it was expensive, but 5k + installation is a lot of money... I have to rethink my priorities now. My goal is to blacked out my car, I might just paint the grey part of my current bumpers.

Sorry guys, the kit is available in the states for 2k or so.

Several vendors have them available. Not a bad price, but it doesn't fit the M

Just to let you know, I looked into this too.

First, for fitting purposes, I would stick with the OEM kit.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that the conversion is not cheap (I believe that was around $6000 (CAD) with everything -no labour included-) and the conversion is not that easy since there is not just bumpers and different screws. There are few internal elements that need to be replaced as well, like radiator stand, and other parts.
While I was ready to trigger it regardless of the cost, the idea of having my car in the shop taken apart convinced me not to do it.
I realized that I love it the way it is.

Well, now I am more than convinced to not do it. Quite expensive and risky for what it is.

Thank you!

You are welcome. If you really want to look different or have them same color, you can paint the ones you have. there are few people in here that did it, if you look around you can find pictures. There is one thread for example:
http://e84.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=430153
You need to find a very good shop though.

This is also my color too and love it. I have played with the idea of painting them then I realized that it looks quite nice how it is.
There are also some advantages:
The bumper is more flexible and has some room to play in comparison with the more stiffer M style.
If you scratch the front lip or damage it, you can replace it in no time. If you have an M bumper the process will be remove-paint-install.
The modular design is quite practical and more forgiving.
