I've got all the software installed and have done the Alpina flash myself. But, I haven't been able to find the instructions for X1 specific coding like you've done. Was there a source, or did it just involve tons of research?

With all E90 coding spreadsheets available you can code everything you like. It looks like you have bmw standard tools installed and running and that's all you need. I recommend using ncsdummy to avoid errors and to apply values that are not oem.

Mostly just research. E84 coding is basically the same as E90 coding, so anything you find for E90 should work for X1.

Interface not connecting..tips?

I bought this adapter/interface (see photo) on Ebay. It has a Bluetooth connection. I first tried it with my android phone and it pairs but.. it doesn't connect. The service desk at Autodia said I must connect with a computer. However my desire was to connect with the app BMWhat (Carly for BMW) which is a mobile phone app only.

Any tips what to do? The interface only lights with a red indicator.

Sorry, I have no helpful opinions on anything Bluetooth-related. I've only ever used a direct usb cable and laptop.

Thanks! I had no idea, so I figured there was just a scarce amount of E84 coding info out there.

Good idea. I ordered it yesterday.

The stuff from autodia.de is probably okay too, only that everything is in German only. I will now try BMWhat and report back.

Just bought an microusb to usb connector for my tablet.
Works great

Hi guys,

Is there anyone in Austin, TX that's a coding expert for these cars? I could use a little help and I pay in good beer.

What's the best cable to purchase that works?
And what apps are still available today that seems to get the job done with turning on/off features, changing logos on the display etc?

Get a Carly II for simple coding and changes, get the 200$ coding cable if you want to go deep into the cars stuff. I think the Carly2 does enough already.

Thank you. I will watch to learn more info, but I actually just got xHp to work on our x1 35i with the help of the developer. I flashed it on my car today and so far so good.

I just want to review a bit longer before I give it its own post, but from what I've read its better than the Alpina.

I'm waiting for a reply from codemycar.com to do mine remotely. He did my N20 last year.

If I can get the code, can SAT Radio be coded to show-up in Idrive?
