Turbo replaced under CPO

From time to time over the last two years when starting my 2013 X1 x-drive 28i I would get the Engine Malfunctiion warning, and the thing would go into reduced power mode. Over and over, I just cleared the codes with the Carly app and I’d be on my way. Sometimes just restarting would do the trick. It was always the same 3 codes, once in a while a few more:
Engine / Motor
:Lambda probe before catalyst temperature
Code: 002CAA
Charge pressure control, shutdown: pressure build-locked
Code: 002C58
sorry, unknown fault
Code: 002CA4

Last Thursday, fortunately, I was heading in the direction of my dealer, late in the afternoon, and it occurred again. This time I drove straight to the dealer. Thank goodness it’s still under CPO - they replaced the turbo, along with the charge pipe - it only cost me the $50 deductible. Heads-up if you get these codes!

What did they say failed specifically?

Just reduced power mode? My 35i will do 4x4/dsc malfunction once in a blue moon. Not sure why?

The only sign anything was amiss was “reduced power”. Sometimes just a restart cleared it (but left the codes), sometimes I needed to diagnose then clear codes with Carly. Clearly, I should have addressed it earlier, but fully intended to before hitting 100k.

They did not button it down to specifics, it’s more that the technician followed required steps in diagnosing, then the program prompted him to take certain actions. I don’t have the papers here, but it all started with a data point being out of range. I’ll try to remember to post a photo of “the story” later.

How many miles did you have on it?
I'm hoping that the reduced backpressure (catless DP) will offset the increased boost from my JB4 so my turbo lasts a loooooooong time on my 35i. Lots of oil changes, for sure.
