Consumer Reports doesn't like the F48 X1

They didn't like the E84 either but at least E84 drive like a real BMW...what do you think?

They raise fair points about the F48. Do you have the link to their review of the E84?

They are not very specific about what it is they do not like about it other than to say it is too expensive, the electric steering lacks the right feel and the FWD is not as dynamic as RWD. It is a poor review.

I would like to know if they decreased the wind noise and made the doors more solid (they close like a '70s Chevy). Those my only complaints with my E84 S-Drive, which I otherwise feel is an excellent car and a good value if you don not load it up with accessories. Oh, and please put intermittent wipers in the next one.

In Canada i tris priced at an insane level, we quite the car but it's well over $700 month if you want Nav and parking cameras. That's utterly absurd, i can sit in a loaded Q5 for that.

The brief review of the E84 in CR's 'cars only' magazine was mostly positive, mentioning sporty handling and decent reliability.
C&D said that the E84 harked back to earlier BMWs for its simplicity and driving dynamics, and the only praise they offered about the F48 was that it better met the needs of most SUV buyers; more space. Of course, C&D was far less than kind to the E84 in its initial reviews, calling it a tall station wagon among other things. Tepid reviews didn't help the sales of the earlier model.

it really doesn't matter, I would never buy an F48. not a good value proposition when competition is sooo much better. I would get a loaded Infiniti QX50 and be satisfied. I text drove and it is Good enough for me. It's not perfect but better than the F48. Rear drive bias with 325HP. Today spec not great. Interior is passable, OK.

No, really, OMG I never knew texting while driving was stupid and illegal.... My autocorrect was engaged on my phone. How about some useful commentary regarding the topic of the post.

Agreed on the pricing

I was about to get the f48 for my wife but it was going to be around $500/mo lease and I leased an E84 x1 35 demo for $375/mo instead.

I would have liked to have oyster interior and hk stereo but I the n55, hydraulic steering, "old school" suspension tuning and low low price were too good to pass up
