Question Fifth wheel?

Living in the North, I want a set of winter wheels, and obviously not runflats.
However, the X1 doesn't have room for a spare, or even a donut.

Does anyone know of any 3rd party that provides fifth wheel mounting brackets that will fit the X1? My Google-fu doesn't seem to give any results...

I doubt this unless you get a custom one made. Or keep one in the trunk...

I don't think you'll find anything OEM related on this note.

You could always put it on the roof over the cargo area, if there's enough space... Maybe with a set of brush guards and knobbly tires it could look like an off-roader!

You could always buy a couple cans of tire stop leak and keep them in the trunk. BMW probably has their own brand of stop leak that is made from ancient Madagascar rubber trees and hand loaded into the can.

Now that's a good idea. I probably won't need it most of the time, but whenever driving outside areas where a cruiser passes every five minutes, and where phone doesn't work, it seems like a decent solution. (I should be able to fit skis inside anyhow, if the marketing materials are right, so that frees up the roof.)
