Another offset question
Assuming my local dealer gets his head out of his butt, I'm about to place a build order for a 2015 X1 x28i. Replacing the stock wheels/tires is at the top of my to-do list. I'm leaning towards Miro 112, square setup with 18x8.5 ET 35 all around, with 235 tires. I'm a little concerned about possible rubbing on the front suspension, though. Would this setup be okay, or should I maybe go with 5mm spacers in the front?
(And yes, I did search the forum, but couldn't find a definitive answer.) Thanks! |

-> check this out Compared to the 8x20 225/45/18 ET30: Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 11.4mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 1.3mm more than before. Almost 12mm is a lot. Is it to much? I don't know, mine is only 6mm to the inside and I have plenty of space. The site is full of info from people with different wheels 8.5x18 is a widely used setup on the site I have seen so far. Good luck. |

I went staggered, with Niche Targa/Conti Extreme DWs, in 245-40/19 on the fronts, and 19x9.5 ET20 rears, with 275-35/19s. I made a mistake with the rears. I should have chosen the option of ET35 on the rears. They stick out a little further than I wanted. Yeah, I measured/simulator, etc for weeks, and still messed up.

I'm running 19x8.5 ET 27 in the front. No issues with the lowered suspension.

These turned out to be NOT what I ordered, but I liked them anyway. They were supposed to be gloss black, with machine face with clear coat. Niche calls this color black with dark tint machine face. This' what I ordered. I don't believe the wheels I got would look good on some trim lines, but my "no-line" black trim all around, they look good, IMO. Those wheels may stick out past the fender by about 1/4".

I have ET35 front, with 245, and they are flush. I chose ET20 for the rear 9.5s, and wish I would have gotten the ET35 on the rear also. They DO stick out a bit, and I may bite the bullet and get another set of rear wheels with the proper offset if they continue to bother me. You have slightly narrower tires, so it should be acceptable, but they will extend beyond the fender line. Since installing my new wheels, I notice a slight visual camber now on the rear.

Nice, for some reason it also most looks like the car is lowered a bit??
Not to completely thread hijack but now much of an issue does one need to worry about with fitting over brakes? The wife likes the look of bmw's 350 wheel that is also an 18x8 et30. I have been toying with the idea of mounting a set with summer tires. I know going smaller diameter can be an issue with fitting over the brakes but what in general even when the diameter is the same?? |
