Finally received my X1
It was about two months ago when I put my factory order in for my 2015 X1 and on this past weekend I got the email that it had arrived at the dealership. I picked it up after work on Tuesday.
I've only had it three days now and I love it. I'm still getting used to driving such a "big" vehicle. I just sold my 2001 M Roadster which I had for 9 years so of course pretty much anything will feel larger. I'm definitely glad that I got the M Sport suspension as the car handles quite well considering that it's really not a sports car in any way. The X1's size and styling were perfect for my needs. I took the following photo last night with my smartphone so it's not the best colour.

Stunning! I wanted your color, but our X1 s28i was my wifes pick, and she got mineral white. Still nice shimmering look.
You and I both got the best M Sport version with 18" wheels. I like the 19" too, but I might put smaller diameter tires on to lessen wheel weight at tire time. The seats with M Sport are incredibly adjustable manual. My Mazda RX8 isn't anymore fun to drive, and The X1 is a faster road car with better mpg. |

Personally, I feel that BMW is making a mistake with putting M badges on cars that aren't real M cars. It kind of dilutes the brand.

Great color
My X1 just hit Port Hueneme.
The Mineral gray seems way conservative now. Should have mine by 5/28/14. Way too late to change now. I am still experiencing very high excitement factors. |

I had to Google Maps where Port Hueneme was. I assume the ship from Germany goes through the canal to get to California? It's interesting that the cars destined to Vancouver where I am get dropped off in Halifax then go by train to the west coast. Anyone know why that isn't the case in the US?

Probably too much volume to move through rail. The ships would pass through Panama

tracked Virgo Leader
all the way from Bremerhaven.
Marine traffic was easy.. San Diego, then Long Beach, then all Bimmers are left off in Port Hueneme . Eight at least for the truck to Monterey. This is way too much fun. |

Luckily she doesn't drive much since we're retired and go everywhere together.
We've been married 20 yeaRS and I just found out she wanted to be a Bimmer girl. Her wants was a BMW in shimmering white, so I picked everything as in nothing, but M Sport with those 18" wheels, and she doesn't miss anything. |

New to the Bimmerfest
I ordered my X1 4/2/14. Just got tired driving a 2006 Civic Coupe.
Worked the same job for 39 years and want to drive toward the sunset in a bit of efficient luxury. I'm waiting to hear from the dealership any day now. Mineral gray X-line, ultimate, HK, cold, active HL's, oyster. I've waited years for a small quality vehicle with most of the bells that the huge SUV's have had for years. Hoo ray, it's so close. |
