Xenon Headlights
Okay, so I've got a 2013 / 2014 model X1 20d with halogen headlights. Is it possible to have BMW OEM xenon lights retrofitted?
I'm worried about fitting non OEM xenon / HID lights which may void my 5 year / 100,000KM motor plan. Could someone please give me some suggestions. |

Having lost one to a stray deer, I'll tell you that the HIDs are brutally expensive.
How many watts are your standard bulbs? I put a set of E-codes in a TJ Jeep, and installed 100w bulbs and relays....it actually gives you remarkably good lights, but the relays are necessary. 'Till the power runs from the battery to the steering column and back, there is a voltage loss. The standard setup doesn't use relays in the Beemer? If it does, just upgrade your bulbs and see what you think. Moon |

Yes you can retro fit. Yes it will be expensive. There's a long thread on here about a guy that went through the process. Synopsis was, don't bother unless you feel that you REALLY need them.

Are the standard lights run thru' relays? If so, uprating the bulbs should make a huge difference. Moon |
