Just Sold My X1

So I traded in my last N55 (2014 X1 35i) last week for this 2020 X3M. I have had a least 1 N55 powered car since 2014. I bought my 2011 e92 335i back in 2014 and when I got a dog I picked up a 2014 X1 35i. I ended up moving all my parts over to the X1 including my Pure stage 2 turbo. The X3M picks up where the X1 left off completely stock.

If any of you are in a position to get one of these cars then you should go check one out. I currently daily a 2019 TTRS and plan to have my fiancé drive this.

Congratulations on your new car. I hope you will enjoy it in good health.
I need a new vehicle so I bought the X4 but keep my X1 as my girl loves it to death. It is very well maintained and looks like new and works like new.

Just curious what was the mileage on the old X1 and how much you got for it as a trade?

Awesome! I know you've only had it a week, but what's your early take on it compared to your tuned 335 and X1? Since it has the earlier DME, any plans to tune it? You know, with a MHD stage 2 tune and E30, I bet it could give your TTRS a run for its money... 🤔

In every aspect the X3 just feels better. My X1 had a $50,000 sticker price which means it was really well optioned. The seats in the X3 feel way more comfortable. The vehicle handled much better the power delivery being stock turbos has more power down low compared to the PS2 I had. The X3 over-boosts a bit on shifts so you get a good kick in the back during the gear changes. Fuel economy right now is about 18mpg which is only 2 or 3 worse than we got in the X1.

As much as I dislike the JB4 we might throw it on. This is the most expensive car my fiancé has had so she feels too nervous to void any powertrain warranty. With the JB4 I can pull it off before dealer visits. I will get a Dragy of the car soon to see where it sits stock on our 92 octane. I bought her a helmet last season so now she can take this to the track when I go racing.

When I was shopping for my TTRS I was cross shopping the X3M and ended up in the TTRS. Its a great feeling to now have them both.

I ran a JB4 during most of my X1 factory warranty and just removed it before dealer visits. Was never a problem - got a fair amount of work done too (new hpfp, timing chain tensioner, injector seals).

You're likely just a JB4 and a few gallons of e85 away from having TWO 10 second daily drivers. That would have to make yours the fastest garage for quite a radius! I've had my eye on gently used and CPO X3Ms for a bit now, and am saving my pennies and might bite if and when the right spec and deal comes along. Perhaps come the end of the year.

Well, I suppose what is the e90 N55 and X1 forums' loss is the S58 and X3M forums' gain. Your contributions here have been have been invaluable. Rock on!

We will run it stock at the strip this year and I'll likely throw some E in with the JB4 next year to hit that 10. Her first run at the strip was in my TTRS and she ran an 11.7@117mph when it was stock. Thanks for the kind words.

Sorry it looks like I missed this question.

It had 73,600 miles on it when I traded it in. I took everything off except the black front kidney grills and the Pure stage 2 turbo. The car was backed into in my work parking lot and the total repair bill was $3,700 so the carfax is dirty. My fiancé backed into our garage door when the door failed to open all the way so there was some paint damage on the back hatch.

We traded it in for $13,000 and they listed it for $19,900.

wow! very good. I mean the listing is shocking.
Mine is ultra perfect in every aspect (including new engine and everything new under replaced from arms to bushes) and the dealer offered me 19,000 CAD which is really low.
I paid for the engine $27,000 so obviously was a No No but I am impressed by the value on your area!
Thank you for your reply and enjoy the new baby. I just got a new X4 too but the baby X1 stays with us forever.

I have tested a few x3's. Base-M. The I thought the M40i kicked you in the arss. That M was next level.

My wife has been back an fourth on an m40i for a couple years now. Probably CPO. Not the best time to go hunting due to the shortage.

Congratulations!
