30k miles and ...
So here we are two and a half years into ownership of my x1 23d msport manual and 30000 miles covered.
So as I sit here twixt Xmas and new year feasts I thought I'd update you all on my feelings about the car and my experience of it. Where to start ... Well the car replaced an e90 320d se saloon which a small child was rapidly outgrowing .. I wanted a hatch with folding seats and four wheel drive ( live in the lancashire hills) but generally was happy with the size/performance/drive of the 3 My ideal car would have been a 3 series touring xdrive, but at the time they didn't make one ! How does it drive ? Well compared to the 3 ? It rides better for sure and that is on 18's and msport suspension compared to 17's and se suspension of the 3 series. I find the gear change is better and crisper .. Both manual cars The 23d engine is superb Economy ? Well currently averaging 38mpg (uk) over 30k miles. Best on a run 47 mpg whilst average commuting around 40 mpg pulled down by the usual around town family stuff. The car has done several euro trips and currently sits outside in the west coast of Ireland. The car had an admirable stability and security on the motorway in bad weather and on winter tyres has proved virtually unstoppable in snow and icy roads. Best bits for me .. The adaptive zenons and pro nav Faults ? When I first got it I needed a new windscreen rubber as it screeched at motorway speeds, replaced foc under warranty. Then in sub zero temps a strange tinkling sound in the bottom of the doors ... Again sorted under warranty .... And well .. That's it Dealer ? My local one (bowker) have been superb very impressed with them So after 2 1/2 years I love it and it fits so well with my lifestyle I'd wonder what to replace it with. Sorry there are no complaints or horror stories but it is just a bloody superb car !! No quality issues at all with it and I wonder why some elements of the press slate it Merry Xmas all

Sorry I couldn't write more ... Well I could say great things but that gets a bit boring ..
I'm sure the 25d would make a great car in the states they sell the 20d as a 28d in the 3 series in the states so why not. The 23/25d engine is truly superb gives the car more than enough go and yet when you want to cruise it is economical
