xline side skirt upgrade

Hey all. I finished removing my sdrive side skirts and replacing them with the satin xline skirts. Some folks wanted some details and pics on the process. So here goes: first the installation is super easy, it took about 1 hour total!
The first thing to do is to remove all the torx screws along the bottom of the skirt. Torx equals star shaped heads. These plastic screws come out really easy, only hand tighted at the factory. However space is tight under the vehicle, so you may need to drive up on something to get a drill or large screwdriver.
Next remove one of the pins/rivets on each of the wheel wells. You only need to remove the one closiest to the skirt. I could not completely remove.this pin, but I popped the heads off and it got the job done. I will have to replace these 4 pins but the skirt functions and stays snug without them.
After screws are removed, grab the skirt underneath and pull forward towards you. It may help to open the doors. The skirt pops right out.
Slide the new skirt into place making sure that the new skirt slide under the flame/material protector. It takes a little effort to.get into place, make sure it snaps fully underneath the doors. Replace torx screws and there it is, all done. I will get pics up later. Let me know if anyone has questions. It really makes a big difference to the vehicle!

If you look at his prior post, he says that he got them from Getbmwparts.com

I just checked them out and they really do have great pricing.

Great job on the install. Thanks for sharing.

Ok how about a down grade? What was on there differen then the Xline skirts, I have a Xline and my wife finds they stick out to far and shes alway rubbing the back of her legs on it when getting in and out. I don't care for the two tone so if/when I wrap the car they will also get rapped in the same color. Any photos of the stock skirts, all i see is the same as my Xline on web.

Hi, That really looks sharp. Anyway I did look the vendor's catalog and I will like to clarify the Xline skirts that you installed...the price in the catalog is $133.60 per molding are those the ones you installed?

thanks

SUPPLEMENT - Ordered the side moldings, installed the same and thanks to 'Ledlover' pictures and instructions it was a dream to install. The only problem I did have the car's fixed inserts they may come loose while removing the original car molding, so is a good idea to check with a mirror and flashlight for loose one before installing replacement molding. The wife's car is blue with silver accent moldings front and rear, now is a full package. And Kudos to me from the wife, she just loves the new look.
