New tires

I have to get some new tires - I had a bulge in one of my original Pirelli Cinturato P7's, so getting 2 new ones tomorrow and then 2 new ones in a few days (shops were out of stock locally, already been a few days on the bulged tire). I might have 4-6k left in the rear set, but don't want to risk future problems with the AWD. I have 27k on my tires, hoped to get at least 32k out of them but what can you do when you have to replace 2 out of 4 minimum, and 4 out of 4 when you want to make sure you don't screw with the xdrive. About $380 OTD through good year for 2 (BMW wanted $290 + tax each) - So, how long did you have on yours and how much did you pay? Square setup, 225/45/18's of course here.

I don't want to get rid of these run flats because I like how they drive - I could get some Falken's cheaper (which I ran for exclusively on my last car), but then I'd force myself to get a spare rim and tire.

*I was quoted $1080 for Goodyears with discount, and I almost laughed*

I'll be lucky to get 20k on my Cinturato P7s! Maybe previous owner rode them hard. :-/

With the added cost and harsher ride of run flats, vs. not having a spare, I'm unsure what to go with.

A can of fix-a-flat, patch kit and you're good to go.

My X1 runs on Conti SSR 18" and while not as comfy as my 17" winter tires, they are ok. Might reduce the psi a bit.

Wow! I've tracked my s28i M Sport with P7 summer tires at least 5 times, and I still have 5/32nds on rear tires at 20,000 miles!

I drive as hard as car will give, but I don't let them slip much.

I like to run psi at what the door jam says cold: 35f 38r.

Yeah, I have no idea. These are definitely the all-season version, and not the high-performance version of the P7s, which have less life-span.

I don't find it easy to slip the tires, but I probably haven't pushed it that far, or with the traction control, maybe I haven't noticed?
