Interior light LED

When I change the regular light bulbs in the interior (trunk etc) with LED there is no light. Do these things need to be coded? Thanks

No coding required. You might have the bulb in backwards. LEDs are directional so if you put it in reversed it won't light.

Alternatives: your LEDs are broken, or you blew a fuse installing the light bulbs. Check the LEDs with a 12V source and make sure your fuse is fine by putting the factory bulbs back in.

Is it any wonder why I love this forum. Problem solved! Just had to reverse the two LED bulbs I had tried so far, then install the rest by trial and error.

I found that I needed "error free" bulbs for the map lights and the cabin light (three bulbs up front). FYI.

for those that don't know, an error free bulb has a resistance across it to emulate the current consumption of a traditional incandescent bulb.
