Manual Tranny probs ?
Any manual Tranny guys on here (preferably diesel) ?
My wife's 18d X drive really doesn't like shifting from 1st to 2nd at highish revs, get an awful grinding noise. It's OK if I slow the shift right down giving the revs time to drop or if I double clutch and although it's not a problem in everyday driving, it's a problem if you want to get out of a junction/lights quickly. I can't find any posts relating to the E84 but loads on the 1/2/3 35i M1/M2 manuals |

Manuals weren't even a possibility for the majority of folks on this site unfortunately. I'd love to swap one in when the warranty expires...

Sorry guys, cars just clicked over 50K miles this week and still under warranty.
I'll have a look at bleeding the clutch but wouldn't it do it in all gears if it was the clutch ? |

No its usually 1 to 2 due to the larger speed change, sometimes reverse will be trouble. Not x1 specific advice but manual transmissions in general. Had similar experience on a VW when the master cylinder went out.
