Actually, it's an interesting story... I took that picture for a pic contest held by that tattoo parlor, but I actually lost enough weight for that shirt to fit like a trash bag, yet I still wanted rep my tattoo artist who both designed the shirt and tattooed me, plus the company itself as well. Since he moved on to a different studio, any new shirt won't be the same, so I just decided to hold back the slack... The "thumbs up" was the least awkward way of holding it, versus either tucking it in like a nerd, or any other pose I could think of at the time just looked like I'm suffering from diarrhea

... Plus, I didn't think of paper-clipping/taping/other tricks the back until much later... Not to mention I thought that he did a good enough job to deserve a subconscious sign of approval.

Yeah, it's mostly old folks, but there's plenty of younger people in there, including some people who have been initiated at 18.

I'm gunna just put this out there, but I think you should have just kept your thumb out of the picture as a whole. Maybe a sideways thumb would have been better.
