No model tag?
Hi,
Can somebody please tell me what happens with car model tags when you order with "no model tag" option? Question might sound idiotic but from what I heard, it then comes with just 18/20/23d removed and s/xDrive stays? In the salon the guy told me that it will say "sDrive" but not "18d", in my variant. Is that correct? Thanks! |

I guess the guy didn't knew. Cause that's what I thought as well. He said that sDrive will remain... Which makes no sense if I don't want any tags and opt them out. I picked the right seller...
Oh but X1 remains in the back. I just wont have 18d sDrive anywhere. At least from what I've seen on other X1's without those model tags. All at least had X1 in the back. Thanks, that's good news! |

If you want to have only the X1 tag, you can order the car with all tags and ask your dealer to remove those on the doors - they're just glued on there. |

I guess that would be this
But really not sure anymore as I'm getting different information around. Since it's already ordered with no tags, then I guess I'll need to order X1 tag if it comes without one. Lol I guess I'll be sure only once the car arrives. |

I have seen one in the UK that had the "No Model Designation" option and it had no tags on at all, including the X1 at the rear.

There is a picture of my X1 23d in the X1 M sport thread. I ordered it with no model designation, and that's what I got...nothing, not even a X1 badge, and I think it looks good

Well it sounds reasonable if it's "no model tag" option. Still not sure why the seller gave me me wrong data. It's not like I'm buying a bicycle. Well, I don't mind much as yeah it doesn't look bad without anything. Though my gf was digging that X1 logo on the back. I'll need to break the news to her. I presume it can be ordered afterwards anyway.
Thanks for the info. At least I know where I am now with it. Going to check yours out now Mulberry. But it's one thing to order a badgless 18d sDrive and another to order badgless 23d |

And my third message in a row. You were right. There was an easy way to check these theories of no tags:
http://www.bmw.de/de/de/newvehicles/...figurator.html No tags = All tags except BMW logo are removed |

This option seems a bit senseless to me.
It is quite simple to spot if there is a 23d or any version 2.5i or 2.8i (even if the later two versions are quite rare here in Norway) - so I assume most people who order the car without no model tag have the S/Xdrive1.8d ? |

It may be that in the future I will have the bodywork customised by BMW with the proposed X1 M Sport panels if they fit to give the car an even 'cleaner' look! Alternatively perhaps the AC Scnitzer panels and a power upgrade to 250 bhp if the BMW panels dont fit would be an interesting way forward. If I go in the AC Scnitzer direction I will probably have their badges applied What I'm struggling with is the probable 'cost of change' to upgrade to the proposed X1 M Sport, or X3 M Sport, or the X4 or Y model, and depreciation on mine. I deliberately specified my car to as close too M Sport specification as was possible at the time to enable me to make the changes when/if they became available. it's low mileage and the upgrades that I'm talking about will be a lot cheaper than buying another new car. Sometime less is more so I'm told . |
