Mine has finally arrived!

Hi Everyone,

Finally, after a 14 week wait mine has arrived

To sum up its a 2.0d XDrive SE Automatic in Titanium Silver with Black Nevada Leather. One of the first to come off the production line for the 2011MY.

Extras I put on are:

comfort package (cruise control, interior lights, PDC front and rear, auto wipers)
sport/electric/heated seats with lumbar support
folding mirrors
bluetooth phone
storage pack
xenons

Also added dealer fitted mud flaps, boot liner and storage pocket in front passenger footwell.

I arrived home after dark so no pics yet but will add them as soon as I can.

First indications of the car are very good

Fantastic news!...

How much did the boot liner set you back by the way, and what sort of liner is it?

Got an email from the dealer yesterday to say that mine had been released to Carrier, so hopefully that means it'll be on it's way soon! Not the first off the line, but could be one of the first Manual xDrive23ds

Hi Terryd,

I will get back to you on the price but its the one thats folded double in the boot. If you drop the seats the one half then folds back into the car to protect the seat backs. Its also reversible (carpet/rubber) and has another bit that folds outwards to protect the bumper/sill when loading. Hope that makes sense. Good buy I think.

PS: I can also recommend the mud flaps. Its going to protect the paintwork against stones etc. We get a lot of grit on the roads here in winter. The downside is it may affect ground clearance if you go over really rough stuff.

Congrats Mario!

Ours is in build and should be arriving in Oct sometime.

How much did the dealer charge for the Mudflaps, supply and fit? If resonable, I'll add that to the PDI, if not, I'll buy the flaps and fit myself.

It was £95. Part no 51 47 2 158 425. Called a Luggage Compartment Mat, Reversable.

There is also a rubber storage tray that fits in the boot. Have one in the Mini and they work quite well as they will contain any spills etc. Did not go for it as its a wee bit pricey at £165.

Hi LRS,

Mudflaps were £70 for front and rear plus £40 fitting.

Mario,

Congrats on your 'new arrival' which looks superb and hope you have lots of enjoyment with it.

Took delivery of mine in July (same spec different colour) and would like to note for the benefit of other prospective purchasers that my dealer charged a total of £230 for supply and fit of front and rear mud flaps. (£70 materials + 1.5 hours labour)

I think you have a good dealer there.

Also note that on any flat road the 23d engine is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, but take it up a long steep incline where the engine is pulling hard and the resonance? can be quite disturbing as mentioned in other threads of this forum.

I see you wasted no time in putting those mud flaps to good use!

I got my X1 almost 2 weeks now and the odometer reads 700+ km so far. I just found out that whenever I started the engine, the service indicator always shows 12,000km. I suppose the figure should be decreasing each time after I have driven a certain distance. Does anyone know is it normal or not?

Mine does, decreases that is, so I take it as the number of miles to the next service. I see however that if you go to system info on the computer there is also the expected "time to next service". Quite common now on all cars, so mine is 20k miles or two years.

What I do find surprising is that yours only says 12k km, thats only about 7500 miles which is very short.

Thank you for your information. How many mileage have you driven started counting down the figure? Nothing happened after 700+ km on my X1 though!

Only done about 600 miles but on Saturday it jumped from 20K to 19k miles. So seems to be jumping in 1k mile increments. I vaguely remember my dealer saying that its not linear, it also depend on how you drive and where. For example hard driving and city driving will make the "countdown" quicker while highway miles will make it slower......Its a mystery I tell you.

According to your "countdown" schedule, I think mine will be started around 1,000km. However, I've been told by the BMW service centre, the increment unit should be 50km. I guess you must have driven a long long way on that single trip in order to drop 1k mile.
