Question AUSSIES; how much are we paying for the X1?

Hi all Aussies, I saw the X1 for the first time the other day:
http://e84.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=434297

I was pricing up the S 2.0 Diesel model and with Automatic it came to around $60,000.

If you own one, do you mind sharing what you paid for yours and what options please? Just doing some research as my wife likes the car and I'm also warming up to it.

I paid $63K (on-road with 12 months rego and premium number plates) for my space grey s-drive2.0d with black sensatec, aluminium trim, business sat-nav, rear camera and v-spoke wheels. Not too many bargains to be had on a brand new model in the first few weeks of its release.

Ouch! the attraction for my wife an I were that its starts at $43,000 base model. But just one model up with a few extras over $60,000...

Well, maybe in a years time I can review... I am in no hurry. Worst case I'd just get a 5 year old 325i or 330i with good history.

Yeah the problem with BMW, Merc and Audi is that the "starting from" price is completely useless.

Mine is a sDrive 20d, alpine white with leather, sunroof, X-line, PDC front, Xenon, Type 322 18 inch wheels and window tinting - $68.8k out the door. If I picked a metallic paint it would be more than 70k. And this is all from a "starting" price of 54k for an automatic.

what do you think of the sensatec? Sweaty? wet back after a good amount of time in the seat?

Yeh, I'd also like to know.

Also, are the 3 series seats real leather?

I thought sensatec was the faux leather? I'd say the 3 in this country would be all 'genuine' leather.

No problems with the sensatec to date. Not sweaty etc - in fact I don't notice the difference to real leather (except the $$$ of course). It behaves just like my leather sofa at home. It even looks like leather - other than some minor piping I can't tell the difference.

my wife's x1 was just under $80k with options such as 23d, 18" y-spoke, metallic paint, prof nav, sunroof, heated seats, electric seats, front + rear pdc, reversing cam, performance control.

hmmm... interesting. I find it retains heat a LOT more than leather. On a couple of hot days recently it was really annoying. Its cold here this morning (13C) and they were fine though. They didnt suck the heat out of me like leather does either...

I think ill get to a point in summer where I will look into replacing the centre sections of the seat covers with leather. This might be a pretty cheap, good way to solve the problem.
