Does anyone know how to use the non used buttons in the lower part of the front deck?
Im thinking in using one for interior lights on/off on my own demand.
Thanks in advance

The left most button is used for Eco Mode, the next button is for the PDC.
I have no idea what the middle right and far right buttons are used for.

Not sure that there's any "button" hardware behind the blanks like there is for the rear fog lights.

Good luck with your project. I'd love to find a use for those last 2 blank buttons myself.

Our X1 has every option, but there's still 2 blank "buttons." Does the M-Sport add buttons?

EDIT: is one of the buttons for an AWD feature? Our X1 is RWD.

Does the 4th from the left have something to do with hill descent? We don't have that one in our RWD X1.

Yes, it is down hill descent control that "shifts down".

You would need to cannibalize a working button panel to get the hardware necessary, and even then I don't think BMW ever used the far right button.
It would be cool to see someone do it and to find a real use for the extra buttons.

Question Buttons not working

Hi! I have problem with these buttons. For some reason all buttons in this row aren't working. There are no lights and pressing buttons does nothing. Any ideas for troubleshooting the problem? Everything else is working, it is just this one row of buttons.

Probably an issue with the connection. Have you taken it to a dealer yet?

Also try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes in case it's a software glitch

Thanks! It was a connection problem. I re-attached the button module cable and it started to work.
