Rear bike carrier no tow hitch

Anyone installed one. Shown on BMW website but local dealer says it\'s not available.

Ian,

I remember it as as a build option and someone saying its just two holes into the rear bumper. Guess an after fit should be possable.

Ian,

See here for my notes regarding the bike rack. Obviously, I have one!

Thanks folks. Does look like it's possible if the electrics can be retrofitted.

Okay doesn't look viable to fit this. Far too expensive. Now looking for a high level rack that doesn't need a light board attached so number plate and lights need to be visible. Any recommendations?

Does anyone know if these rear racks that screw into the towing ports are available in the US. I see that people in the UK are capable of obtaining them, but it seems difficult in the US.

Well, we don't have an option here in the US for getting the bike prep, with the DIN power socket. So I would take that as a no.

I can just fit my bike inside the car, by folding down the rear seats and lowering the handle bars and seat of the bike. It's not ideal, but it's better than nothing.
