Here mine in 56.000 km

http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/detail/386667.html

Total average

€-Km Total-L-Real(l/100 Km)-BC (l/100 Km)-Dif.
4.402€-55897-3.889-6,87-6,5-0,33

U can see the diference between the BC an real.

Exactly second run, 200 kms mostly highway 6,5l/100 km!!! Lots of speed limits in the NL 80-100 only some 120 (+ a bit of illegal 135).

I wait a bit more and write about my experience (still collecting). I only did 320 kms so far

I can only say speed limits are ENEMIES of BMWs

Constantinos, it depends on the market - our sDrive18is are not sold in the UK, and I suspect not much elsewhere in Europe (except in Germany where everything's for sale), so Litres/100km will be our default I think. I'm sure you can change it to mpg through programming (hidden codes etc).

Amazing actually. A 4x4 thats probably more efficient than 95% of vehicles on the road.

Yep, you can change from Metric to Imperial through the settings on the trip display.

Constant highway speed, 6th gear at 1500 rpm on a trickle of gas...

In a word yes, if you're worried about fuel consumption generally avoid 6-cyl petrol cars. Do you do high revs? This will aggravate it.

I've noticed BMW do offer X1 diesels in South America, why did you not consider one?

dmunozj >>> My point is, if fuel consumption is a determining factor for you, then don't get a car with a high displacement, big engine !
As rightly pointed by macnim, there are available engines which burn much less gas so it doesn't become a concern.

If you chose to get the most powerful 3 liter mill, high(er) fuel consumption is usually the downside

For a diesel that seems a *bit* high, but since you mention average speeds I imagine at times you had your foot down?

Thanks. To tell the true i like big engines. I like my back being pushed against the seat when I gas. I love when i push the pedal down and other cars stand there like an electric pole. Nothing to do against that 3.000cc.

They do offer diesel in Colombia but are way more expensive.

One other question my great bimmers explorers: consumption will decrease as i ride more???
