Exclamation How do you properly tow a 2014 X1 when the battery is dead?

I can not find the proper instructions to tow a 2014 X1. My battery is dead and I need to tow it to a shop. I know it has to be towed on a flatbed but other than that how on Earth are you supposed to get it into neutral when the shifter is electric? Please help as I am a first time BMW owner and have no idea what I'm doing.

Just get a tower, they know how to tow a car, also if its locked in a Drive position.

I'm struggling to put my hands on the correct document right now, but there's a bolt on the underside of the transmission. When you tighten it, it will push on a level which will manually disengage the parking brake. Of course you have to crawl under the vehicle to do this.

Alternatively, hook up an auxiliary battery so you have enough battery power to put the car in neutral electronically.
