Auto seat positioning when unlocking and few other stuff..

I tried to see if my seat goes back to the last set position for the key in use when I unlock the door but it doesn't. I checked all the options under "door locks" but no luck. Before I was not putting my key in the ignition key port as I have the comfort access and was just using the start/stop button with the key in my pocket. So, I inserted the key in the ignition key port, re-saved my seat position and tried again but still it doesn't work. I have to manually press the button (1/2) at the side of the seat to get to the desired seat position. Any ideas?

Also, exterior mirrors folding - is there a way to set it up so that it automatically folds once the ignition is off or sth and opens back up to the set position with key unlock/engine start?

Thanks

auto seat

i was told by my salesman that only 1 of the fobs is factory set for the primary user for auto seat positioning. maybe you can try the other fob as the primary with the seat memory position 1.

1) Our two keyfobs always move the seat back to the last position for that keyfob. If yours isn't working, take it to the dealer.

2) There is an option for making the mirrors fold on when you lock the car, but it isn't a preference in iDrive, it has to be coded. Don't think there is an option to have them auto opening (which kind of makes sense).

oh, yeah for sure. He just asked if they had an auto-open option when the car was started or unlocked, which I don't believe there is.

Not through idrive, but it can be coded for either unlock or putting the car in D. Fold in can be done for park and lock.

Ok it get it.

With that setup you need to watch screen camera while backing.

No temptation to look at mirrors.

Thanks guys for the replies.. about the auto seat positioning one only needs to click the unlock button in the keyfob right not press and hold it? I'll try with my 2nd keyfob as well and see how it goes..

Find someone that codes BMWs. Have them code it into your car. Do a google search for "BMW coders (where ever you live)". You can also ask your dealer if they know of anyone.

Coded my X1 to auto fold/unfold with holding lock/unlock button using BMWhat app. It was as easy as ticking the boxes and I did it during my lunch break at work . No hassle of going through internet to find all those installation files, daten files etc. Just that you have to wait for the Bluetooth adapter to come through then you are done. App can be installed through Android/Apple App Store. Cost me AUD$64. Just my concern at this moment is is something were to mess up how can I restore factory settings..

Regarding auto seat positioning it seems to work only if both keys are used. If other key is used and the seat is repositioned, using the main key will set it back to the position setup for the main key and vice versa.
