Tire recommendations

My OEM Continental tires have belts that are separating and it's time for a new set of tires. I am kind of leaning toward Pirelli's but thought I'd ask the experts here for their recommendations.

I have dw contisports and they're awesome but I hear that the Michelin PSS are even better. Those will be my next set to try out.

We went with the Michelin PSS. We have only about 1k miles on them so far none at working speeds yet.

Conti dws 06 - about 10,000 miles. Love them. Put another set on my wife's car.

+1 on the RE760s. I had them on my previous car and was very happy with them.

I did those on my e90. They are cheap enough and lasted long enough.

I liked the conti dws on wife's is250 when we had it.

I'm personally ok with the stock Pirelli P7 all season RFT tires. Nice to have that RFT capability for long trips in the middle of nowhere, and the tires seem to last a really long time

Also, my tire guy says he's been really impressed with federal for a cheaper alternative. I'm not sure which model but something to think about if you're on a budget, I might even try them out instead of spending 1600 on PSS

for commuter tires, that way to do is to get a used set of OEM take offs

That's what I've done for the last year of leases to get the car ready for the return

I got a full set of practically new summer RFT for my wife's 335 for $200

A note on these. I like them, but have been waiting for a replacement.

As it turns out, the 760s are the RE001 in the rest of the world. And they're currently up to the RE003.

Well, they just started selling the RE003 here in the U.S., under the name Firestone FireHawk Indy 500.

And they're DIRTY cheap. SO CHEAP.

If you're buying the 760 now, you're getting ripped off, as the replacement for the replacement of the 760 is being sold here now...

Sorta makes me pissed.

Same, except I got what I liked far better than OEM - Goodyear Assurance Tripletread (IMO far superior to the Eagle LS2 RFT that the car came with) for $600 already on a set of excellent condition E60 wheels. I sold my Eagle's for $400 so really I only paid $200 for a new set with a spare set of rims!! :-D

Note: all in CAD

Sounds like what he's saying is that they're rebranded as Firestone. They're actually the Bridgestone, in which case, I've heard they're great tires.

I am interested in trying a set of Cooper RS3-S. I put a set of the all season RS3-A on my Mazda 3 and they were great.

The S is the performance version. Took top honors in a few shootouts and is reasonably priced.

The 255/40-18 that I am planning when I upgrade my wheels are about $160 at Discount. Wait for the buy 3 get one free eBay sale and you are golden.
