Converting Wheel Bolts to Studs

Anyone know the length of the stock wheel bolts off the top off their head or what size stud they went with when they converted?

Our stock lug bolts are 12 x 1.5 mm (designated as M12 by some vendors). You should be fine with the 75 mm studs unless you plan on running crazy low offsets

Just FYI, F-series cars and E70 X5's are 14 x 1.25 mm lug bolts (designated as M14)

To answer your question, stock bolts are generally described as being 25mm in length, whether or not they're M12/M14 in diameter or 1.25/1.5 in pitch.

Perfect, do you know if that's total length or just the threads?
I have the choice between 45mm and 60mm for studs, 20mm of which is the thread for the hub/rotor clearance.

Thread length.

Unless you're dead set on closed ended lugnuts, I'd run the 60s. Although, I think people can still get some closed ended nuts on 60s. 45 seems a bit short. 60 is common, as are longer lengths.

Na running regular open end lug nuts.
I think I'll go with the 60's, may stick out a bit but I'm ok with that.

How much did that run you?

And any concerns with the bolts coming loose when taking the wheels on and off?

Nope, use red locktite. I ran studs on tracked vw and daily driver for over 8 years, never had one back out.

We'll see, it's cold and slushy on my garage floor currently.
Keeps flipping snowing, fun for snow drifto's, bad for cold wet pants.

Here I did one, not seated fully, probably another 5-8mm left to screw into the hub.

50mm (total length) studs with regular open lug nuts would be about flush with the nut when seated.
