Base Audio Upgrade (202X Update)

Hello all,

Recently totaled my 2011 335i xDrive N55 and went with a 2015 X1 35i M-Sport to stick with the beautiful engine and suspension setup.

This being said, the X1 in specific did not have a iDrive system (screen) while also having the base audio setup which I want to upgrade since it's quite bad.

I added a 12" screen that I got on Aliexpress and I am currently adding a reverse camera. The screen is a great addition mainly because it enables me to now have Bluetooth for music and not calls only.

I did some research, for good upgrades but most of the threads are pretty old and I wanted to see if there are any newer or better ways. I found some people that went with the Alpine retrofit while other's have explored the BavSound route. There is also the AlphaOne products that do offer an amplifier upgrade too, but unsure if it's worth the price for what I want.

From what I understand, there are no tweeter with this base setup nor is there any amplifier. Anyone would have suggestions as to what might be worth it, or personal experience with some systems?

Hey brother! Unfortunately I don't know alot about options for the base stereo as mine came with the top-hifi system. I think you can find some info here, but also check out the DIY mobile audio forum, you may be able to find some good info there:

Thanks for looking, I actually read through most of that thread, I guess that means I am on the right road hahaha!

Will try to see what low-budget outcome I can find! Found another thread that seems to have lots of info and links!
