Road Tax Question

This question's for the guys in the UK.
My road tax runs out on the 28th February and I'm picking up my X1 on the 1st March. Do I have to make a SORN declaration or will sending back the slip from the V5 be enough?

Lucky you!

It's a good question, not entirely sure. Probably be worth giving them a call to be sure.

If it's a part exchange maybe the dealership would know.

The DVLA web site says do not make a SORN if you sell the vehicle. I will check with the dealer. You would hope they would know. I will need to see if I can leave the car at the dealers on the 28th. Otherwise I will have to tax it and reclaim the remaining 11 months. You'd think you would be able to drive the car untaxed upto the garage, but then again think how much cash they must rake in from all the people picking up their cars on the 1st.
