Quote looks pretty ok to me, if Business Sat Nav is about $3.5k.

You didn't get this quote from BMW Melbourne, did you?

Ok. Then not quite as good.

$51,500 Basic sDrive 20D Auto
$3,000 Sunroof
$900 X-Line
$1,800 Metallic Paint
$2,300 Bus Sat Nav

Subtotal is $59,500

I can't remember how much Front PDC is exactly, I think around $500 to $600. I have no idea about side mirror package. Let's say $1,500 for those two things.

New subtotal is $61,000.

So, if given the above is correct, you are paying $4,500 for rego, stamp duty and dealer delivery. Without breaking all that down, it does appear to be a reasonable deal and you are not being skewered by the dealer. Believe me when I say you won't get that deal from BMW Melbourne. I know because I have tried. Wanted to charge me $6.5k for on-road.

There will be some room to move I think. All the prices for the options are gross after luxury car tax. And that car is a not going to attract a luzury car tax if under $75k in total (can't remember exactly why now but either because it is a diesel or that the official fuel consumption is such).

But no leather and no 18" wheels? You know you want the 18" wheels.

Garage List
2011 BMW X1 23d  [7.66]
I went for a shopping trolley of options. My specs:
Xdrive 23d (Std with Xline)
Sunroof
Sport Seats
Lighting Pack
Xenons + washers (req'd) - A must in my opinion
Performance Control - I'm told and have read this is a good option for xdrive models
Pro Nav
Rear Camera - A little wanky but no doubt handy
F+R PDC (Rear standard)
Leather
Shadowline
Headliner
18" 322 style alloys

Think that's it. After shopping around at the all the dealers here in WA (exactly one), i got that on road for $78K.

Ok here is how the price is on the contract.

BWM E84-X1 sDrive 18i
Body Colour - Sparkling Bronze Met
Trim - Oyster with Yellow B

PURCHASE PRICE OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE (inc GST) $36,818.29

Colour/Trim 1,307.90
Rear View Camera 691.90
Panorama glass roof 2,307.80
Navigation system Business $2,230.80
Automatic Transmission 2,200.00
Wave Fineline 792.00
Park Distance Control (PDC) 550.00
Design Cool Elegance 4,038.10
Rain Sensor and Auto headlight 200.20
Floor Mats 550.00
Street Legal Tin 434.50

Sub Total (inc GST) 52,151.49

Stamp Duty 1,400.00
Registration /CTP 710.00

TOTAL PURCHASE PRICE $58,000.00
Note the Stamp Duty and Rego are for VIC.

So it seems that when they did the breakdown on the contract they keep the option prices at their RRP and just discount the base value of the vehicle.

Cheers,
chrisso

BMWDave, I am finding the Rear Camera to be very handy indeed. Especially as it shows you where your car is going using the guidelines and it's certainly helping me to avoid scratching those FINE 322 alloys

I have the performance control, but I am not quite sure what it is doing behind the scenes as I never drove an X1 without it. I also have the sport suspension and it seems like it's a little "hard" but I've always had sporty cars so it doesn't bother me much. Overall the drive is pretty good.

Chrisso, How can it be possible that the car is only $36,818.29, it is even lower than sDrive18i manual. Do you mind if I ask which dealer offers you the sooooo good deal?

I think he means that the basic price is the $36k, he then puts the auto option of $2200 on top of that.

Going to take an X1 sDrive 1.8 Auto for a spin tomorrow as the Mrs is looking for a new car.
Were on quite a tight budget so if she likes it what sort of price should i be aiming for?

Not looking to spec it up too much, maybe just Bi-Xenons, PDC front & rear, Black Gloss interior trim, Rain sensors and maybe 18" rims.

We are also eligible for the Corporate Program pricing if that makes a difference.

Nice, not dissimilar to what we are looking at, also corporate. Any discounting or use of a car broker?

Waiting till the X3 arrives - either the X3 2.0d or the X1 2.3d. Depends on the drive, but do like the launch in the X1
