I swear by the old type of carnuba wax that comes in a tin, not a bottle, and has to be applied, removed and buffed with plenty of elbow grease. Polishing without rubbing is like making a sauce without stirring. The result will speak for itself.
As for which wax, well...

Finnish polish is a better polish than Polish polish, but Polish polish gives a better finish than Finnish polish.

Garage List
2014 BMW 528ix  [0.00]
2013 BMX X3 28i  [0.00]
www.zainostore.com

This the product I hear most often touted by "car people". My understanding is that this company has a contract with some of the folks that put on the car shows.

Just ordered these as i was out of my zaino and need new stuff. I got a good deal on this kit. I did a lot of research on the Nitro seal and seems to be the stuff to beat. We will see this weekend if that dang storm sandy don't screw the weekend up! .....
Although I will order my leather cleaner from zanio as it is the best smelling stuff you can get!

3D Polisher 7
Hd Nitro Seal
HD- Poxy Pro 32 Oz.
HD Speed - 32 oz
Clay Bar 180g. Fine Grade Blue
Final Touch 24 oz.

If all goes well Ill update with the results of the 3D stuff

I have used Zaino for years and love it. It is simple to use and produces great results. My only complaint would be that it doesn't last insanely long.

I have never used leather cleaner that Zaino makes. Perhaps I will give it a try.

I think you'll like the 3D stuff, it's good. I used to use Zaino, but have really migrated away from it and am currently using Menzerna polishes (which can't be beat) with a Chemical Guys glaze (their stuff smells great) and Menzerna sealant topped with Dodo Juice wax.

I'm finding that the wife's Midnight Blue is so much easier to care for than her previous Jet Black car that I can greatly simplify my full detail and maintenance is much easier in between too.

After years of waxing, polishing and many cars, I find out that Meguiars is the best choice for me. They have few products absolutely excellent. Scratch X 2.0 can be used even by hand to eliminate a scratch.
I also use their Dual Action polishing machine which is the best so far. For waxing (and paint sealant) I am trying now the Wolfgang.

Waxed and clean.

Here is the results in my weekend wash & wax.

washed the car with dawn dish soap to get all wax off.

Clayed car with clay-bar (didn't need it) but did find a few littles specks of junk.

waxed with all of car with HD Poxy let cure for 1hr

Added Nitro seal (A) part all of car Then applied part (B)
Let cure for 1.5 hrs then buffed off...

Slick /Wet super mirror finish.

Looks great. So no polish? I'm impressed with the Midnight Blue paint on our X1. Our 08 135i was Jet Black and swirled just in strong wind. The metallic paint on the X seems much, much tougher and even after an inadvertent wash at the dealer, it's still swirl free even under LED lighting.

Thanks
I didn't think it really needed a polish as to how new it was. But I actually just found out what the difference between polishing and waxing is...LOL

I had the HD speed that polishes and waxes together but heard that the poxy was better.

Yeah, I just did a clay and a light glaze before using a sealant on ours, I plan to cover that sealant with some wax before the cooler temps set in, but I keep delaying that.

Look sgreat man!
I am looking at your landscape there. I already used the snow shovel three times this year and you have flowers... How fair is that?
