The Bimmer just seems more "awake."

The Audi looks like an overgrown hatchback while the bm looks like a hippo flaring it's nostrils. Barf to both

Actually this is the first comparison that I really liked every single angle in the BMW... Q3 looks just like the Q5 and the Q7, same different size... the X1 does have somethings in common with the X3 or X5 but at least it's not a fucking copy paste

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

X1 hands down because for some reason is looks more muscular...... BTW - Check out the REAR reflectors on the AUDI Q3... They take 35%-50% of the entire rear bumper and by comparison they are as big as the tail lights......

Why are the wheel wells shaped so funny in the BMW, they are like half circle, half not circle.. dont even know what shape they are...

I will pass on both.

N20 blows away the 2.0T how? 2.0T is a reliable little thing. Lots of opportunities for tuning as well. And the S models (333 hp) are the "in between" models because of the RS variants. Not hating on the N20, but the 2.0T has already proven itself over the years.

I think the X1 looks more exciting, but I think I'd much rather be seen in the Q3 S-Line

The interior on the Audi looks very nice - which is a big tiebreaker especially for an SUV.

The X1 is uglier than ugly. Audi looks way better, and the s-line front looks very good, however the slope of the rear on the Audi looks weird.

I think the X1 is the ugliest (along with the GT) BMW currently available.

Garage List
2011 BMW X1 23d  [7.66]
Obviously owning an X1, I'm bias but for me, the Audi looks too much like every other audi on the road...boring. Let me get out my cardigan now.

The X1 is certainly not to everyone's taste but for me, I really like how it's a little different, a bit more muscular, flared nostrils, squarer front, etc. It's simply more interesting. I sometimes think the ride height needs to be either lower or higher, not sure which, but driving it, the ride height is perfect for clearing curbs, speed bumps, etc, gives handy ground clearance off road and still facilitates good vehicle dynamics on road. I'd bet good money after bad the X1 handles better than the Q3 and would be a better drive overall.

X1 for me.

Although I'm not a fan of the Darth Vader look I could tolerate it but I hate the shape of Q line period. It's too round. Many have said that the X1 has no direction in terms of shape but I think that's what most people like and gives it it's character. The Q just looks boring.

The interior is different, BMW continues to use the simplistic and basic layout which works and some people enjoy it but the Audi, like always, has the better looking interior (minus the ugly pop-up display). It's not that the layout is any better than the X1 but the use of the panels and instruments make it look more luxurious.

I though it was X1 vs the Q3?
An Audi with S line isn't very comfortable, nor is the M, but it' provides a far far better ride imo.
The Q3 looks like it's been made in paint, the headlights look aftermarket, and the interiour, it looks just horrible.
Besides the Q3 is boring as hell, looks like a raised A3, it doesn't have a soul of it's own.
Now with the X1, it doesn't look like a E87, it looks like a X1.
X1 FTW!
Audi is to girly, and the Quattro on the A3 and this, isn't Quattro, it's only by name, it's really only a Haldex...
Branding can strike back at you VAG.

I'd just like to point out the Q3 uses the VW 4 motion AWD setup it's not a real quattro AWD. The Q3 is based on the VW Tiguan so it's basically a jacked up Golf 5, that said nobody ever takes these things offroad, so what does it matter. Both X1 and Q3 are pig ugly, I'm surprised the Q3 is so hideous, I would have thought a scaled down Q5 would have looked pretty good, the Q5 is the best looking small SUV IMO, it's hands down better looking than the X3.
