I think the 4 cylinder models will be very popular in the US. It is good that a 2 wheel drive version is available for sunbelt locations.

Since the X1 underpinnings are the E91 3-series wagon... is it really that far off to call it the Eagle reincarnate?

Great looking car. Not for me but, my girlfriend has been talking about getting a car with "storage" space so she can get around. This looks perfect. Maybe she'll even get the M package...

One request, if there are any images with the trunk space open, I would love to see that. Thank you.

My wife has a Clubman S so this will be like a Suburban compared to that. Living in South Carolina where we got zero snow last year Xdrive is a waste and no matter what anyone says does not make the car handle better (in my opinion). I will be so happy to have a rear drive SUV because I hate front wheel drive. I walk hitch hike before I'd own a front drive SUV.

I wouldn't mind a little more height, but not as much as on the X3 or X5. I honestly like the looks, (front end especially) of the X1 over the X3. I love my 530xit, but I'm not crazy about the 3 series wagon for some reason. If I were to buy another wagon I would prefer the new 5 wagon, but we all know thats not avail here in the states.

Love the fact they are bringing this x-car to the states - BUT anybody who owned an X3 knows that six speed is complete garbage. I'm amazed my wife and I were not killed because of the continuous nightmare due to delay in downshifts or just plain lack of throttle response. Not a fun experience. The 8 speed is not only a gem but also clearly has the bugs worked out prior to production. Hopefully they have fixed the problem for good. Still think the 8 speed is more advanced, and more befitting with the n55.

+1 - n55 + 8at go together like cookies and milk...

On another note, is this X1 some weird consolation prize for not bringing the f20/f21 over stateside? If so, it's a crappy consolation prize.

The 6 speed auto in my 2007 X3 is the reason I got rid of it. Had the dealer reprogram it and it worked for about two two. It would just about break your neck taking off from a stop if it didn't delay for a full second or two. I would never get a used X3 with that transmission. X1 in my opinion my be one of the best vehicles BMW makes. Perfect size for my wife and I, good room for Lowes's or Home Depot, great gas milage, great handling and I think good looking. I prefer its looks to the X3 which is too big for my needs.

What's the difference in price? That's the only thing that can set these cars apart. IMO brands have been diluted heavily and some models overlap. Come on whats the real differences between X1 and X3? Plus the X1 is ugly lol. I can just about bear the X3 now.

About a $5,000 difference between the X3 and X1 with Xdrive. I think they will sell a lot of the sdrive for people who have no need for all wheel drive and better gas mileage. Style is always a personal opinion, it doesn't look much different than the X3 but I'm not crazy about the X3. Sdrive will be almost a $7,000 savings over an X3. I'm not buying it because of price (I've owned 13 BMW's) the X3 is just too big and heavy compared with the X1.

Either a base sDrive or M sport would be my choice.

LeMans blue looks sweet.

Are there bigger photos of the pricing?

I didn't like the X1 when I first saw the photos, but checking it in real world changed my opinion, it looks good and M Package is awesome
