X1 comfort access

Does the X1 require you to insert the key into the ignition to start the car, even with comfort access?

I know there's a start/stop button, but do you have to insert the key as well?

Yes without comfort access, no with comfort access.

If you have comfort access, no you don't have to stick the key in. It does have a slot for the key like all other E chassis cars though.

BMW recommends putting in each of the two key fobs in the slot periodically during an extended drive to re-charge the battery.

Awesome! Thanks for the replies!

I'm switching out of a vibration-plagued 2012 328i into a 2013 X1.

With Comfort Access, the key fob does not get recharged in the ignition and instead has a replaceable battery.
