2014 X1 \'28 SDrive Loaner

Hi Everyone -

I own a 2013 335i MSport that is pretty loaded and also has the MPS (M Performance Suspension) installed. I dropped off my car today for its low mileage oil change and was provided the subject loaner. It has a unique configuration: sport model, 8AT, manual sport seats with "pleather." Interesting that sport seats are manual.

Anyways, I haven't spent a lot of time with it, but I am thoroughly impressed. Handling is good compared to various 3-Series that I have had as loaners. Stereo is much better than the stander 3er. It didn't have any creaks that I noticed.

It does not have a sport button which is standard on the 328 and 335's. As an X1 newbie, is this omitted from all X1s?

It is too long for my liking, but it's a great car (based on the short time that I have had it). I can't say the same for the 5er's that I have driven.

Happy driving.

None of the X1s have the sport button, probably because it is based on the earlier E platform rather than the F series one. You can put the transmission into sport mode by putting it over to the left but of course that is different than what the sport button on the 3 series does.

Ah, makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. It's definitely a fun car.

Glad you enjoyed it. Interesting that you thought it was too long since it's 6.5 inches shorter and an inch narrower than your F30.

Thanks. It may be the rear window placement that makes it feel longer to me. I felt like I was going to back into everything.

im glad you like the X1, i myself came from an E90 and love driving the E84. the one thing i love the most is the N20 paired with the 8AT, makes for a sporty feel and with good gas mileage. a winning combo in my book. enjoy that loaner.

I just noticed that it is an SDrive. I was able to get into the engine a bit this morning. Very impressed. More so than the N20 3er with 8AT that I have driven.
