Who discounts the best?
I'm asking around on several boards so please forgive me in advance. Why do some dealers discount and others don't? I know of two in NJ that discount quite well, while my selling dealer doesn't discount at all except for a one time, "welcome to BMW" 15% off on accessories deal. (my dealer is also in NJ) One of my discount dealers has the left and right performance kidney grilles for less than $100, which is pretty good I think.
My question to you all is, who discounts the BEST?

That might not always be the case. (although it would make a ton of sense that high selling dealers would) I think my selling dealer is pretty good with sales, they are on an extremely busy road in central NJ. Their service dept. doesn't get the greatest reviews, but sales does. You would think they would be one of those dealers who would offer 20-30% off on accessories and the like, but they don't. While I'm always willing to give business to my selling dealer, if I can find the same item from another dealer and save alot of money I will, plain and simple.

My local dealer offered 10% or 15% off accessories. I got online and found a dealer in NJ giving a much better discount 25%-30%. The age old of yes I paid shipping but save on tax. So it was a good deal for me. I did not even bother approaching my dealer about matching the price.

I don't mind buying online and paying for reasonable shipping costs. If a dealer is giving you great pricing on OEM items and being fair with shipping, you are still bound to save quite a bit from a dealer who doesn't discount.

Sorry Eric, I haven't been able to answer until now but yes, Circle BMW is one of the dealers I was talking about. The other is BMW of Mt. Laurel, NJ.
